This two-week Islam and Science Summer School invites students, scholars, and lifelong learners to explore the relationship between faith and reason, revelation and rationality, and belief and empirical discovery. In an age where science shapes nearly every aspect of modern life, the dialogue between Islam and science has become increasingly important for understanding both our shared intellectual past and our collective future.
The program examines the historical roots of the Islamic scientific tradition and investigates how Qur’anic cosmology inspired early Muslim thinkers to study the order of nature as a manifestation of divine wisdom. It also addresses contemporary questions at the intersection of religion and science, including debates on evolution, cognitive science, and modern cosmology.
Through lectures, readings, and guided discussions, participants will engage with both classical Islamic thought and contemporary scientific perspectives. The program aims to foster a rigorous and respectful intellectual environment where participants can deepen their understanding of Islamic intellectual heritage and critically reflect on its contribution to current debates on science, knowledge, and faith.
The program is conducted in English and will take place in person at the Süleymaniye Campus of İbn Haldun Üniversitesi. Participants who meet the attendance requirement will receive a Certificate of Participation.
